Zippi Rippa control module replacement

The control module manages everything: battery, throttle, motor, the two-speed switch. If a Rippa has lost throttle response, has intermittent power, or is showing an unfamiliar light pattern, the control module is usually the culprit. Replacement is methodical but not difficult — take your time and follow the wiring carefully.

What this guide covers

  • Removing the battery and confirming no power to the bike
  • Locating and accessing the control module on the Rippa frame
  • Photographing the wiring before you disconnect anything
  • Disconnecting the harness and removing the old module
  • Fitting the replacement and reconnecting the wiring
  • Powering up and verifying everything works before you close it up

What you'll need

  • A replacement control module for your Rippa size — order from spares and accessories
  • Allen keys (included with your original bike)
  • Your phone for a reference photo of the wiring
  • About 25 minutes

Before you start

The connectors are colour-coded but they're easy to mix up if you're going from memory. A photo of the wiring before disconnection saves a lot of frustration. If anything looks damaged — burnt wires, melted plastic, swollen connectors — stop and email us photos before continuing.
