Setting up the side stand for the Zippi Rippa 20" Bike
Side stand for the Rippa 20" — bigger bike, slightly different bracket. Same five-minute fit.
The Rippa 20" is the biggest bike in the Rippa range, and once a kid is riding it out at the pump track or down to a mate's place, a side stand becomes pretty essential. Five minutes to fit.
What this guide covers
- What's in the side stand kit
- Locating the mounting point on the Rippa 20" frame
- Fitting the stand and bolts
- Adjusting the angle so the bike sits stably
- Tightening to the right torque
What you'll need
- The Rippa 20" side stand kit — available from spares and accessories (the 20" kit is a slightly different size to the 16" — make sure you've got the right one)
- An Allen key (included with the kit, and in your original bike box)
- About 5 minutes
Tip
The Rippa 20" is heavier than the smaller Rippas, so make sure the stand is tightened properly and on a firm surface when the bike's leaning on it. Soft grass or gravel can let the stand sink and tip the bike — pick concrete or hard-packed dirt where you can.
