Replacing the throttle on a Zippi Ride
Throttle stuck, slow to respond, or just feels off? Here's how to swap it out in about ten minutes.
Throttles take a hammering on a kids bike. If yours is sticking, feeling stiff, or not responding the way it used to, the replacement is straightforward — about ten minutes with a couple of Allen keys.
What this guide covers
- Powering down the bike safely before starting
- Removing the old throttle from the handlebar
- Disconnecting and reconnecting the throttle wiring
- Fitting the new throttle and tightening to the right tension
- Testing before handing the bike back
What you'll need
- A replacement throttle — order from our spares and accessories page
- Allen keys (included with your original bike)
- About 10 minutes
Before you start
Always disconnect the battery before working on the throttle wiring. The Zippi Ride won't have power running through it once the battery is out — safer for you and the bike.
