Adding training wheels to a Zippi Ride
Training wheels come standard with every Zippi Ride 10". Here's how to fit them, when to take them off, and what tools you'll need.
Training wheels come free in the box with every Zippi Ride 10" — they're the difference between a confident first ride and a wobble-in-the-grass first ride. Here's how to fit them, and when to take them off.
What this guide covers
- Identifying the training wheel parts in the box
- Fitting the brackets to the rear axle
- Setting the right height so both wheels touch the ground
- Tightening to the right torque
- When to take them off
What you'll need
- The training wheel kit (included with every Zippi Ride 10")
- A spanner — included in the box
- About 5 minutes
When to take them off
Most kids are ready to lose the trainers within a few weeks of consistent riding. Signs it's time: they ride confidently without the trainers touching the ground, they're leaning into turns, and they're no longer relying on the trainers to stay upright. Take them off, watch them ride, and put them back on if they're not ready yet — no harm done.
